One. What is a word that has never started the first sentence of a story? Its always one or once. Anyway...I'm going to list of everything in my room. unfolded assortment of clothes, a huge black cat, an empty energy drink can, an empty energy drink bottle a subway cup an ipod an ipod stand a tv a computer some boxes, this is really boring you think it would be cool but it just makes me sad to see that half the stuff in my room is just shit and the other half will just become shit. Everything turns to shit evetually. Thats a good way to save money you know. every time you feel the urge to buy something, just ask yourself if it will turn into shit. Most of the time it will and id say that if it probably takes less than 3 years to do so that its not worth buying. Money never turns into shit. At my work (its one of those restaurants with all the crazy shit on the wall) in the bathroom is this old add from the 40's advertising a spiffy new stetson hat. And this is a real advertisement not some asshole having a good time with his hat, but rather a paragraph of impossibly small text explaining exactly how one could become an asshole with a really cool hat. No one wears hats anymore. Not like they used to in that better vanished time.

I'm reading this book called Only Revolutions by Mark Danielewski and its the most amazing book ever. I will explain it for you. The book is written in a way that you can start reading it from the front or the back and throughout the book it follows the mechanical motif of a circle. There are 2 stories, one called Sam and one called Haley. Each story starts on the opposite side of each other and each story has 360 pages. It is actually suggested by the publisher that the reader alternate between Haley and Sam reading 8 pages at a time. I am doing this of course and its amazing. Sam puts emphasis on animals and every person that he refers to apart from Hayley is a man, and Hayley puts emphasis on plants and everyone that she refers to apart from Sam is a woman. Sam's side is written almost like def poetry and Haley's side is very eloquent and correct so to speak. Mathematically, if you follow the publishers instructions, both stories will meet in the middle of the book. Another thing thats cool is the text for each side starts very large and gradually gets very small. Every animal and letter 'o' on Sam's side is printed in green and every plant and letter 'o' on Hayley's side is printed in yellow. Its a really weird book. You should also read House of Leaves by the same author. Awesome stuff.

I know what all those things are
I never knew or said I might
but now I know and its all good
I know why everyone likes to tell you
they only last a little while but then
...
I guess there will always be more
different but the same or so

Good on the tongue.
Bright in the eyes.
Quick on the run.

You must be aware I'm not alone
I've got a tigress back at home
And besides
You wouldn't know what to do with me

When you look at something
You wanted it
And now you cant imagine why
The sheen is gone
The mystique is evaporated
Why did you mythologize it the way I did?

A new friend [Dec. 25th, 2006|01:55 am]
When your foot goes into a sock
or wait a new whatever just as long as its new
a glass of water
you're too thirsty to taste anything anyway
that thing that I like when I like it to happen
can you breathe through your nose?
a baseball if you like baseball
or whatever you like at all
even a crisp dollar
its going to get something
and having that something after not having it
is new

On the side of your ears are thought not
very often indeed have I seen them and then
again to the wind they often take but so
cliche to everyone and not cause it happens
to be on that gentle breeze would be to sail
away is a way none the less

Fragile [Dec. 17th, 2006|01:47 am]
Fragile in my hand it breaks
And as a word to me it shakes
The pieces come off in their own way
You gave me shaky words today
And of all the bits you thought you'd take
All the bits you took from me were fake

The kid dreamer musicers, with their guitar hands
singin about the white and a thought they might've haven't had
makes me sad to see them go, wish i could merry with them in their ways
but it comes and goes as you might've thought
the sparks in their eyes and like the sparks in mine
a thought that might've flickered by
but you know...

I was just reading this site where this guy had a list and explanation of all of his predictions for the future. They were mostly all tech related and some political and religion stuff. Like for the next 100 years or so fiction will still be read largely in paper form and how by 2100 the average age will be around 120 or so, it was kind of interesting. It got me thinking about the technological advances that havent happened; very simple stuff like, how we eat food. Short of bar form or protien shakes, we put food into our mouths with metal tools. We can go to the moon, but when we get back we're going to stab that piece of brocoli with a pronged thing and put it into our mouths.

I wonder if we will ever reach a peak where we are unable to advance any of the technologies that we have. Something to think about.

rant [Oct. 5th, 2006|11:03 pm]
I just had a sort of epipheny. The music indusrty is fed up with ppl downloading songs. If they want to do something about it then they have to form a sort of union and then only release music in vynil form again. CDs are old tech for music nowadays, and its because the methods of getting information from CDs are extremely effective. If they develop new technology for vynil then it would be somthing new and technology would take along time to exploit them without costing a lot of money. So by releasing music on no other form they will be able to start making money again.
